Anderson people, places and things will be in the spotlight this Friday when WSPA News Channel 7 sets up for a live five-hour broadcast from Carolina Wren Park.
Anderson Zip Trip will kick off at 5 a.m. on WSPA with City of Anderson Business Education and Event Manager Caroline Gaddis discussing what’s new and what’s on the horizon for downtown. Throughout the morning, the news team will explore the history of “The Electric City”, the city’s arts and restaurant scenes, and a lot more.
The live broadcast will continue during WSPA’s Your Carolina show from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., featuring interviews with Mayor Terence Roberts, new Anderson University Head Football Coach Bobby Lamb, Matt Thrasher, co-owner of Skins’ Hotdogs, and others.
“These Zip Trips have been an excellent way to learn more about the communities we serve,” said Your Carolina Co-host Jamarcus Gaston. “It has also been a lot of fun to dig a bit deeper into stories the Upstate may be unfamiliar with. I have had the honor to cover everything from the history of the Gaffney Peachoid to Fountain Inn native “Peg Leg” Bates. It truly reminds us of the rich legacy present in each of our local communities and we look to exploring Anderson on Friday.”
The public is invited to head down to Carolina Wren Park, 111 E. Whitner Street in downtown, to see Anderson Zip Trip live. Those unable to be there in person can watch on WSPA Channel 7 in the Upstate or go HERE to live stream the broadcast.
