Exploring and experiencing Anderson County, South Carolina

Anderson County lies just off Interstate 85 in northwest South Carolina, bordering Greenville, Pickens, Oconee, Abbeville and Laurens counties in South Carolina, and Hart and Elbert counties in Georgia.

The 9th most populous county in the state, Anderson County has nine municipalities: Anderson (County seat), Belton, Honea Path, Iva, Pelzer, Pendleton, Starr, West Pelzer and Williamston.

The County consists of seven districts in a Council-Administrator form of government under the South Carolina Home Rule Act of 1976. Council members are elected in the general election for terms of two years, beginning on the First of January following their election.
