Editor’s Note: Anderson SC Living is partnering with Rettew Creative to expand the audience for Storefront Stories as area businesses continue to rebuild from COVID-19. Bobby Rettew and digital media students from Anderson University’s Communications program recorded the first Storefront Story on April 22, 2021 and have since captured the experiences of almost 30 downtown businesses. Look for a Storefront Story every Wednesday here at Anderson SC Living.
Melissa Fabry specializes in helping other people tell their stories by displaying and preserving their passions, accomplishments and memories with custom framing.
From monthly meet-the-artist events to workshops focused on lost arts and do-it-yourself projects, there’s always something happening at Indigo Custom Framing & Artisan Market on North Main Street in downtown Anderson. It’s also an Anderson go-to for art by local painters, photographers and illustrators and unique jewelry, candles and even clothes.
Like many businesses, Fabry weathered the storm of COVID-19 with encouragement from friends, customers and fellow downtown merchants.
“I have gotten so many encouraging words and so many people reaching out to me. I’ve even had people come and put hands on our doors and bless it and pray over it,” Fabry said. “Just to know that I have the support of so many lovely people wanting the best for not just me, but for all of Anderson is my storefront story.”
