Coleman A. Kirven has been promoted to president of The Peoples Bank, where he will oversee the daily operations of the bank and continue to work with senior management in planning and executing the bank’s ongoing strategy.
Kirven has been in the banking industry for more than 25 years, joining The Peoples Bank in 2019 as Chief Banking Officer/Executive Vice President. His promotion to president was effective October 1, 2021.
Shawn McGee will continue to serve in the role of CEO of The Peoples Bank and will work with Kirven in setting the strategic direction of the bank.
An independent community bank, The Peoples Bank opened in 1951 in a one-story building on Broad Street in downtown Iva, SC. Beginning in 1981, the bank expanded its presence in Anderson County by opening a branch office in Anderson.
