Editor’s Note: Anderson SC Living is partnering with Rettew Creative to expand the audience for Storefront Stories as area businesses continue to rebuild from COVID-19. Bobby Rettew and digital media students from Anderson University’s Communications program recorded the first Storefront Story on April 22, 2021 and since have captured the experiences of almost 30 downtown businesses. Look for a Storefront Story every Wednesday here at Anderson SC Living.
Linda Fulmer and her husband bought Ladies On Main in February 2020, right before the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. A supportive downtown retail community and customer base helped the business owners survive and even thrive during 2021.
“We opened in February 2020 and the goal was just to survive,” Fulmer told viewers in a video posted on the store’s Facebook page. “That was the first year of the pandemic and businesses were going down left and right, but we made it through 2020. 2021, thank you guys so much. You showed up, you helped other people discover Ladies On Main, which we are so, so grateful for.”
An upscale consignment boutique, Ladies On Main offers notable brands such as Halston, J Crew, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Lilly Pulitzer at affordable prices. The store features clothing and accessories including coats, shoes, boots and purses.
Fulmer believes 2022 is going to be the year that the Anderson area discovers the “honey hole” that is Ladies On Main.
“We saw a community come together and just keep going,” Fulmer said. “What I learned during the pandemic is number one to trust the Lord. If He led me into this, He’s going to sustain it.”

This video story was crafted and produced by digital media students from Anderson University’s Communication Program. As an Assistant Professor of Communication and owner of Rettew Creative, Bobby Rettew led a team of students in the COM 351 Corporate Video Production class to create these stories. This project provided a unique opportunity where students were able to leverage their technical video production skills along with enhancing their soft skills by interacting with clients and connecting with the downtown Anderson business community.
