Dawn Drucker founded Simply Country Chic Boutique to be a women’s boutique where North meets South with fashion-forward, trendy styles mixed with Southern hospitality.
Drucker opened her store on Main Street in downtown Anderson a little more than a year before the COVID pandemic, offering a place where customers could find some of the chic styles found in New York and LA, but still with a little Southern flair.
“We were doing really well, then the month of our one-year anniversary, we ended up having to shut these doors down to the public,” said Drucker, who also serves as head buyer. “What has kept me going is knowing that my family has been there for me supporting me, my employees are behind me 100 percent of whatever I do, and the other small businesses on Main Street have all reached out. We try to help each other as much as we can, and we need the community to do that, as well.”
Born and raised in New Jersey, Drucker considers herself only half Yankee since her father was from North Carolina.
“I have always listened to country music and even rodeoed,” said Drucker, who moved to South Carolina in 2001 with her husband. “I feel that it was this upbringing that led to my unique sense of style which really is north meets south.”
