The 10th Annual Holly Jolly Holiday Fair may be an open-air affair in 2020, but the mission to support local and small businesses remains the same.
More than 150 artisans that paint, cut, draw, sculpt and stitch will be on hand at the outdoor event at the balloon launch site near the Anderson Civic Center. At 24 acres, the site allows for a spacious, safe way to shop, according to organizer Kim Kelley.
“About 30 percent of our normal vendors have gone out of business this year because so many events have been cancelled,” Kelley said. “We want to bring some joy to 2020, and we believe an outdoor event is a safe way to go.”
Holly Jolly Holiday Fair will be held this Saturday and Sunday, November 21 & 22, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. In addition to vendors selling items that are holiday and handmade, the event will feature live music by local musicians, local food trucks and a visit from Santa on Saturday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
“Local artisans like woodworkers, painters and jewelers have had a tough time this year, along with area restaurants and musicians,” Kelley said. “We’re hopeful people will come out and support our local and small businesses that are struggling.”
Live entertainment on Saturday will feature: Luke Riley Smith, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm; LB Branch, 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm; and Brandi Colt, 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm.
Sunday’s lineup is: Luke Riley, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm; Ashby Stokes, 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm; Elevation Dance, 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm; and Spencer Haringa, 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm.
