Beverly Childs came to the Anderson County Museum as Executive Director in January 2008 with a background in management, nonprofit work, fundraising and business development. As Director, she is dedicated to making history accessible and relevant by presenting it in a fun, educational way the community can learn from and enjoy.  Beverly thinks of the museum as a living, breathing repository of artifacts and stories that chronicle the past. During her tenure she has led the museum to open new permanent exhibits and expand programs and events. Time away from the museum is spent with her husband of 38 years and their Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen (PBGV)s at hunting field trials and showing them in the conformation ring.
