The Market Theatre Company is holding auditions for Shrek the Musical.
What to Prepare
For Ages 15 & Up: Prepare 30-60 seconds of a musical theatre song with accompaniment. Due to time constrains, please showcase your best vocals within the allotted time. Sheet music or backing track are highly encouraged, especially for those who wish to be considered for lead roles. An accompanist will be provided as well as Bluetooth speaker. Be prepared to list all scheduling conflicts, dance experience, stage experience, and training. You may choose to provide a theatrical resumé instead of writing this information on the audition form. Headshots and resumés are accepted but not required.
For Ages 7-14: This age range is asked to submit video auditions only. They do not need to attend auditions on June 13th, but they may be asked to join callbacks on June 14th or 15th. Video audition instructions are coming soon and will be posted no later than May 29th. This age range will be considered for the roles of Young Shrek/Baby Bear, Young Fiona/Bluebird, and Teen Fiona. Additionally, 13-14 year olds who submit videos may be considered for other ensemble roles.
There will be no dance audition on June 13th. If a dance audition is needed, it will be scheduled during callbacks on June 14th or 15th.
Actors may also be asked to attend callbacks on Monday, June 14 or Tuesday, June 15.
ALL ROLES ARE AVAILABLE. NO ROLES ARE PRE-CAST.
PERFORMANCES
Sept. 30-Oct. 5 at 7pm in Carolina Wren Park
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals begin tentatively August 2. Rehearsals will generally be weeknights with occasional Saturday mornings/Sunday afternoons. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. A detailed schedule will be created based on cast conflicts and availability.
