Anderson County government launches new app to inform, engage citizens

Date

Anderson County has a new way to engage and inform its citizens— the free ACSC Gov app.

The new app allows residents around the county to report problems, keep up with meetings and have access to agendas for county council and committee meetings from their smartphones. It also allows citizens to pay taxes or tickets online, and those seeking employment can apply for available county jobs.

Anderson County PAWS, a shelter helping to find loving homes for dogs, cats and small animals, also has a presence on the new app. Residents are able to see animals that are available for adoption, or report missing or found pets. Information on Anderson Regional Airport also is featured.

The new app is designed to be a tool for better constituent communication, according to District 6 Councilman Jimmy Davis.

“It’s easy when you’re living in and around the county seat to know what’s going on, but when you live 30 or 35 minutes north in the Powdersville area, Three and Twenty area or Piedmont area, a lot of times they weren’t getting the notifications.”

The ACSC Gov app can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play.
