While the coronavirus pandemic has caused product shortages and delivery delays for many retailers, Hampton Furniture is ready for fall with warehouses full of inventory, according to owner Ashley Jewell Collins.
“We’re busting at the seams,” Collins said. “Last year, we had to buy our second warehouse and we have now filled both of those up in anticipation of the holidays, so we do have furniture right now. You do not have to wait. We certainly have no shortage of inventory.”
Much of that inventory includes new fall selections featuring warm colors, cozy textures and new patterns. With five showrooms totaling 40,000 square feet, Hampton Furniture on Whitehall Road in Anderson houses a variety of home furnishings options sold directly from the floor.
To incentivize customers to buy in-stock merchandise and take it with them, the company is offering a 15 percent discount on everything in the store, according to Collins. Those who take items with them without requiring delivery will receive an additional five percent discount.
Knowing that the size of the store and the number of options can be overwhelming, Hampton Furniture has a merchandiser that styles and displays furniture to assist with space planning and to help customers envision pieces of furniture in their own homes.
And consultants are on hand to assist with color and style options. Collins encourages customers to bring inspirational photos or ideas they would like to implement in their own homes.
“This is what we do every day, this is what we love to do, this excites us, and we can help you make your home what you want it to be,” Collins said.
And for those worried about missing the big game while shopping, Hampton Furniture’s focus on fall includes airing football games in the store throughout the season. You may even find a comfortable recliner for game watching at home.
A hometown Anderson company that has grown to serve the Upstate, Hampton Furniture celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2021. Collins is the third-generation owner succeeding her father, Darryl Jewell.
“We appreciate you guys for shopping local for all of these years,” Collins said. “Most people realize that we’re now third generation and this business was started from a pickup truck. It is so humbling to know that people have supported us for as long as they have and continue to. We are growing and we could not be more thankful for that.”
