Anderson Sings, United Way of Anderson County’s virtual singing competition, will be held again this year with registration now open for singers and bands.
Presented by The Peoples Bank, Anderson Sings celebrates and recognizes the musical talent in Anderson County and the surrounding area while helping the community grow stronger through the efforts of United Way.
The virtual singing competition and fundraiser is for bands and musicians who are local to or affiliated with Anderson County. The Grand Prize winner will receive $2,000 and performances at Celebrate Anderson 2022 and Thankful Thursday. The winner also will receive photoshoot with a local photographer and a full-day session at Sit-N-Spin Recording Studios in Greenville.
“When we kicked off the first year of Anderson Sings last year, we had high hopes for what this competition would bring to our community. But we had no idea of just how much it would help lift up so many people in need,” said Carol Burdette, CEO of United Way of Anderson County. “We had incredible musical artists who claim our community as home and helped raise over $30,000. It was amazing to see them use their talent and platform to spread the word of United Way and lift our neighbors’ spirits during the pandemic.”
Anderson Sings is a single elimination bracket tournament organized by a selection committee. Musicians/bands must submit registration for the tournament by 10 a.m. on September 6.
The bracket and first round match-up dates will be announced soon after. The winner of each match-up is based on the number of votes in the United Way Anderson Sings fundraiser. Each $1 contributed counts as one vote.
