The 5th Annual Golden Years Jamboree, the signature event of the Jo Brown Senior Center and the Anderson County Senior Citizens Program, is set for Wednesday, November 4, at 9 a.m.
- The drive-thru senior expo at the Anderson County balloon launch field across from the Civic Center of Anderson will allow sponsors to meet, greet and give away items to attendees as they slowly drive by.
Proceeds from the annual fundraising event will benefit Westside Community Center and its plan to replace the building’s lettering. To date, Golden Years Jamborees have raised $35,500 for the Cancer Association of Anderson and $3,400 for The LOT Project, which serves Anderson’s transient and low-income populations.
- At 10 a.m., live music will be featured at the event’s center stage and the 24th annual Jo Brown Senior of the Year will be announced. Attendees are encouraged to park their cars to enjoy the music and the Senior of the Year announcement.
The rain date for the event is Friday, November 13.
The Anderson County Senior Citizens Program offers a variety of recreational and fellowship programs to enrich the lives of Anderson County’s aging adults. These programs are available to all Anderson County residents 55 and older regardless of race, gender or religion.
