Denver Downs Farm has been voted the sixth best corn maze out of more than 500 in the country for the fourth year in a row and the fifth time overall on USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice 2021 list.

A family-owned and operated farm since 1869, Denver Downs Farm in Anderson is the only corn maze in South Carolina and one of only two in the Southeast to make the 10Best list. Devine’s Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch in Harrodsburg, Ky. ranked first.

“We are both thrilled and humbled to be selected among the hundreds of contenders for the top corn mazes in the country,” said Denver Downs Co-owner Catherine Garrison. “As a family-owned generational farm, we take such joy in helping families make memories and spend quality time together and can’t wait to open the farm this season for them to come and enjoy the award-winning corn maze and all the other fun activities we have on the farm.”

Each year, Denver Downs chooses a theme for its corn maze. This year, the farm is celebrating the Honey Bee with a “Bee Happy” theme. The 10-acre maze design includes a bee, honeycomb and a sunflower with a Tiger Paw in the center. The farm opens for its fall season on Saturday, September 25.

In addition to the 10-acre corn maze, the 140-acre field has many farm animals and 35 fun barnyard activities including hayride, zipline, haybarn climb/swings, giant slide, giant rollers, gem mine, giant jumping pillow and axe throwing. “Pigtuckey Pig Races” are held on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. And a new “Candy Cannon” will be fired late afternoon on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Denver Downs’ fall festival also features more than 90 tons of pumpkins and 4,000 mums for home decorating, along with pick your own Sunflowers and Zinnias.

The farm will have live entertainment each weekend, with solo acoustic acts on the stage Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. Most weekends in October will feature full bands on Saturday nights.
