Holiday events this weekend in Anderson County

If you’re looking for things to do this weekend, you don’t have to look far. From ice skating and tree lightings to Christmas markets and parades, Anderson County has a host of holiday happenings for all ages.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3

Pendleton Christkindlmarkt, Pendleton – This second annual festive event at Village Green in Pendleton features delicious local treats, hand-crafted ornaments and more. Hours are 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Christmastime at Dalrymple Place, West Pelzer – Enjoy a festival of trees, vintage cars, vendors, Santa in his workshop, food trucks, live nativity scene and more. Hours are 4 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

City of Anderson Tree Lighting, Anderson – Ceremony begins at 6 p.m. at Main and Whitner Streets in downtown Anderson. It’s also First Friday in downtown Anderson with retailers staying open later and free entertainment by The Electric City Big Band in Carolina Wren Park.

Countybank Holiday Ice, Anderson – This synthetic ice rink at Carolina Wren Park downtown Anderson offers affordable family fun. Skate rental is included in the admission price. Opening night hours are 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Western Carolina Sailing Club Parade of Lights, Lake Hartwell – The 7th Annual Western Carolina Sailing Club Parade of Lights benefiting Toys for Tots and a local food pantry will be held at Green Pond Landing from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

The Light People of Pelzer, Pelzer – See the original Pelzer Light People on Lebby Street in front of Historic Pelzer Gym from 8:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., weather permitting.

Jingle Bell Rock, Pelzer – Enjoy the holiday season with an original concert production of vintage Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas hits by favorites such as Elvis, Chuck Berry and Brenda Lee.  Showtime is 7:30 p.m. at Historic Pelzer Auditorium.

Anderson Christmas Lights – Enjoy more than 292 displays and 2.5 miles of roads. Main entrance on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard across from Anderson Civic Center. Hours are 5:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4

Holiday Market at Anderson County Farmers Market, Anderson – More than 35 local vendors with unique handmade gifts, fresh produce and a lot more. 402 N. Murray Avenue in Anderson from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Belton Hometown Christmas Celebration, Belton – Enjoy a day full of activities including a holiday market, children’s Christmas parade, and cookies and cocoa with Santa at the Belton Depot. Hours are 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Jingle Bell Rock, Pelzer – Enjoy the holiday season with an original concert production of vintage Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas hits by favorites such as Elvis, Chuck Berry and Brenda Lee.  Showtimes are 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Historic Pelzer Auditorium.
