2022 marks the return of the Soirée – a signature arts festival that electrified the streets of downtown Anderson from 1985 until 2009.

The Soirée distinguished itself as one of the first and finest arts festivals in the Upstate, drawing talented visual, performing and culinary artists to Main Street along with entertainment the likes of the famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses.

The 2022 Soirée will be a community-led festival, hosted by the City of Anderson, providing an entertaining two-day cultural experience on April 29 and April 30.

“The festival is going to have a big focus on the arts and we’re really proud of that,” said April Cameron, executive director of the Anderson Arts Center. “There are going to be a little more than 50 artist vendors at the event so they’ll have their booths set up, there will be shopping – true artisan work that people will be able to take a view at and purchase, as well.”

Culinary and performing arts also will be represented at the festival, according to organizers. Visitors will enjoy live performances on five stages, and of course, a lot of food.

“Our downtown restaurants are gearing up, they’re extending their outdoor dining and we’ll also have food trucks,” said Soirée Committee Chair Caroline Gaddis.

The event also will feature Kids Kingdom, a children’s area that includes games, art projects and other activities. Some children’s activities will require tickets, which can be purchased at the event.
