Art, live music, a car show and kayaking are just a few of the activities on tap this weekend in Anderson County. From fun on the farm to the Ferris wheel and Frozen 2, there are things to do for all ages and interests.

Art on the Town Art Crawl and SculpTOUR – May 14

Anderson’s popular Art on the Town kickoff event is Friday, May 14, from 6-10 p.m. The annual art crawl includes a juried show at Anderson Arts Center and 50 works of art on display at 13 retail and restaurant locations in downtown Anderson until May 23. The May 14 kickoff event will include artist demonstrations, street performers and a drawing for $500 in cash. And, six new sculptures have been installed throughout downtown for SculpTour 2021.

Movie Night in Carolina Wren Park – May 14

The City of Anderson presents Movie Night on Friday, May 14, in Carolina Wren Park, featuring Frozen 2 at 8:35 p.m. Admission is Free, and concessions will be available. Coolers are welcome but no alcohol or glass containers, please. No pets allowed and COVID-19 protocols will be observed. Carolina Wren Park is at 111 E. Whitner Street, Anderson SC 29624.

Anderson County Farmer’s Market – May 15

The Anderson County Farmers Market is open Saturdays in May from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., featuring produce, farm fresh eggs, local honey, homemade baked goods, artisan goat cheeses, fresh herbs, handmade jewelry, handcrafted soaps and lotions, handmade decor, gifts and more. Summer Kayaking Kickoff, West Pelzer/Pelzer – May 15

Hosted by The Lincoln Taproom and Saluda River Rambler, this event includes shuttle service to and from The Lincoln Taproom in West Pelzer, a BBQ Plate, one beverage and a souvenir. Spring Farm Fun Day at Denver Downs Farm, Anderson – May 15

Spring Farm Fun Day at Denver Downs Farm will be open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 15. Admission is $12 per person for ages three and up. Tickets are good all day and include more than 30 barnyard activities like the giant jumping pillow, haybales, ball zone, zip line, low ropes course, giant tricycles and dodgeball. The farm’s gem mine will be open at an additional cost. Tickets are available online or at the gate.

Spring Express & Car Show, Iva – May 15

South Carolina Chili Cook-off Championship, Belton – May 15 – 16

The South Carolina Chili Cook-off is a family-friendly event that qualifies the South Carolina contender for the International Chili Society’s World Finals.
